I got an offer today to buy a Juv. koran angel...i know there is a 50/50 chance it will nip but i am hoping feeding often will lower the chances...should i go for it? My fiance has wanted one of these fish since we 1st started and i am hoping this is the thing that will get him REinterested in the tanks and then i wont have to do everyhting by myself! my arms are too short for that haha! Also is $50 a good deal? the guy said he paid $80 but i looked on saltwaterfish.com and they arnt even half that much! should i try and talk him down a bit? he also has some equipment im going to buy off of him so maybe he will be willing to budge a little on the fish...

    Thanks as always;D

And by "arms are too short" i mean i can barely reach the sandbed, and if the canopy is on i cant even get close to it lol, and taking that canopy off is a pita...super tall tank+super midgety girl=needs tall muscley man help.... bahaha!

Well in my opinion Koran Angels are kinda bland when they mature. The price is right, yes. Nipping at corals, yes, but if its ok with you. But, if your in the mind to get an Angel, why not wiat for a Imperator Angel, or a Queen Angel, those have such pretty colors and patterns in them when they are mature. Just a thought.

i agree with you, they do look bland as adults and i love the look of the adult Emperors, Queens are not so much to my taste, but its not really my taste im going for this time, but his...if getting the fish that will be boring as an adult is what it takes to get him "back in the game" it may be worth it lol.

If this is for your 120 I would say none of these angels. Your tank is just too small. The Koran gets over a foot long as well as the Queen or Imperator. Also if the angel does become a problem good luck removing it without removing most of your rocks. Most of the larger angels are more prone to nip at corals.

this is for the 120 soon to be 220 lol...im putting in a lot of overtime hours with the pouty face patrol lol. a nice 220 that just came up for sale near us...if my pouting wins (and i make lots of $$ tomorrow) i may just turn that one into a FOWLR because a lot of the fish i want are A.really big, and 2. not reef safe (cough* batfish cough* lol) But i think i am going to hold out for a Emperor anyway...i like them much more as adults and my fiance honestly hasnt shown much interest when i showed him the fish for sale...i guess he is a lost cause...oh well more fun for me!!!::)
