Why not use the maxi-jets? they come in different sizes, they're cheap and work well on a timer and if you get fed up with em, they can also be used to power some skimmers. JMO

 

the shape of the impeller forces water forward and the impeller backwards... no need to glue it to the magnet or use a washer because it is meant for 24/7 usage at tartup it is forced to spin much too rapidly from a dead stop

Mine chatters also.

 

i think the 12V ones that are on there wave makers do not come to a full stop and just slow way down and then pick up full speed thats how they dont chatter.

 

I was having the same issue with the k3, one reason I switched to the Ecotech MP40 (the other reason being that I found a killer deal on one).
