tank looks completely awesome. On the chaeto, my little ball has remained about the size of yours for about 5 months :( - growth seems really good!

Corailline - Thank you :) I hope so. I think the hammer killed a zoa frag I had. The zoa only had 1 polyp and a baby. Now both of them have stayed closed for a couple days. One of the hammer tenticles was rubbing on it the other day.

oldfishkeeper - Thank you. I bet it's because of me feeding so much. More food is better right? JK

Thank you. Working on being patient lol. Can't wait for it to grow. I have been battling getting my DKH to 12 and have just decided to stop trying so hard and let it stay at 10.6. Everytime I would get it up there it would just fall the next day. I figured this swinging was bad for the corals so I'm just going to maintain at 10.6. I may try again when I switch salts.

Why are you trying to maintain 12; faster coral growth? What is your Mag & Calc at?

Ok so did water change and tested last night. Looks like my mag is at 1400 and calcium was at 425. I think I may have my water volume miscalculated.

I tested the KH and the tank was at 10.1. I "remembered" filling up 25 gallons when I started the tank but after adding things I may be a bit off. I added what I thought was .5 dKH and retested. The test read 11.2 after words. Could my tank really only have roughly 13 gallons of water? I have only added two small rocks, filter media and corals. I am going to do this test again to see what results I get.

A couple pics of two of the inverts. I really like the porcelain crab. He is always waving his hands catching food. He is pretty funny to watch when I feed the fish. He will come flying out of the rocks trying to catch the fish food. He will reach as far as he can while only holding on with 2 or 3 legs. When he falls he is in a mad rush to get back to the cover of the rocks. Then he is back to waving those hands 100MPH.

The second is a pic of the pistal shrimp and his best bud. They spend all day some days making trenches across the tank and rearanging their burrow. I wish I was able to see under the rock and see what their home looks like. I wonder if they have a TV under there? Sometimes they will stay hidden under the rocks for the entire day.

Added some more corals. Picked up a cyphastrea from the LFS that has some really cool colors. I'm hoping I am able to get this thing to spread. I also bought a mix of frags from a local reefer tearing down their tank. I got 2 polyps everlasting gobstopper zoas, 3 polyps whamming watermellon zoas, a kryptonite candy cane and a rough looking tyree war and peace favia. The names make me chuckle but I like the way they look. I spent $20 on all of it so I hope they pull through. The candy cane had it's feeders out the same night I moved it home. The whamming watermellon zoas have opened up and look like they will be fine. Both of the gobstoppers have only slighty opened but they have an intense orange coloration from what I can see, I'm really hoping these do well.

The favia is a different story lol. I bought it on the chance I could nurse it back to health. Based on the pictures I have seen on the net of tyree war and peace this thing will be awesome when fully recovered (if it even is a tyree lol).

Anyways, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Decided to stop trying to achieve the 12 dkh level and decided to just maintain at 10. I looked up lots or other successful reefs and 10 is what they were using. I am going to continue using reef crystals. Since the salt will act as supplementing dKH on water change day it will fit into the schedule nicely.

Also having troubles with cyano right now.
    PO4 - .02ppm
    NO3 - 0ppm
    (RED SEA)

I stopped dosing NOPOX in an attempt to raise NO3. I read that the chaeto will stop growing and removing PO4 if there is no NO3 in the system for it to eat. I'm hoping this works. If not I guess I will purchase a reactor and start running GFO. I am currently running SEA GEL in a filter bag. I will be changing it out every 2 weeks to make sure it stays fresh.

On a good note it looks like the favia is making a recovery. A few of the polyps have added a little weight and have extended tiny feeder tenticles.
