Ok so i have been fighting algae for a while now and i believe I am winning but I can't get rid of that last little bit.
I have been feeding the fish every other day and feeding the corals with Reef Energy every 4 days. I have been running chaeto in the fuge and running a GFO reactor for about a month now. I have also been running SeaGel in a filter bag under the chaeto on one of the overflows and changing it out every two weeks to make sure it isn't leaching PO4 back into the water.
    NO3 - 0
    PO4 - .01
The large cyano growth has all died off but there is still a few places in the tank where the cyano is still living. It is still located on a few of the zoa frags on the upper part of the tank and in one central location in a lower flow area at the top of the tank. I say lower flow but the flow in there is still really nice with the new WP-10 which I finally got set how I like it. I am also getting the brown dusty hair algae on the sand and back wall now.
The only two other things I can think of that are causing the algae growth are either residual nutrients from algae die off or photoperiod is too long. What do you guys think?
I changed my lighting schedule to this just in case. What do you guys think of the lighting schedule?
    1 - 11:30 - whites 0% - blues 1%
    2 - 1:00 - whites 0% - blues 35%
    3 - 3:00 - whites 80% - blues 100%
    4 - 6:00 - whites 50% - blues 100%
    5 - 8:00 - whites 0% - blues 40%
    6 - 9:30 - whites 0% - blues 1%

Against my better judgement I went ahead and purchased another frag. The guy at the LFS said it was a piece of rainbow monti. For $5 I was willing to gamble and see what colors this guy would produce.

Also found 2 of these guys crawling around. Based on some searches it looks like this could be a stomatella snail. I only see them eating algae from the rocks so looks like another member to the clean up crew :)

While I'm at it might as well throw up a current FTS.

Here is an update on the favia coral I have been nursing back to health. 1st pic is when I added it to the tank on 4-28-14 and the second pic is a current shot 6-23-14. Looks like it will make it. The colors are still coming back and it looks like it has potential. Can't wait to see what this coral has to offer. favia 4-28-14.jpg favia 6-23-14.JPG

Thanks! It is very slow progress. I thought people were kidding when they said it takes a year for a coral to reach full recovery. But at the rate it's going I bet it will take a year. Luckily it is growing at the same time and spreading to the rock below it. Can't wait to see how this guy turns out :)

It looks really cool. I like the colors that are coming out of it.

    Thanks.

Time for a small update. I don't have pictures right now (I know, I forgot to take them...). This past week I noticed that the place I was pouring the dosing chemicals didn't have enough flow and some of the carbonate was precipitating in that chamber. I started dosing into a high flow portion of the rear chamber and this made a huge difference. So much difference, that me making that simple change caused a small overdose. The entire tank fogged up due to the overdose. I stopped dosing for a couple days and did a 20% water change. The tank has now cleared up and I'll be testing/dosing again tonight.

I was also finally able to get the phosphates down to 0. All the cyano in the tank has died and dissappeared YAY! But then my reactor stopped working :( I have the IM mid size reactor and Amazon will be reffunding me for it. Does anyone have a suggestion for a replacement reactor? Should I go with the IM reactor again and hope I just got a lemon the first time?

The corals seem to be doing ok. I'm hoping I didn't strip the water of phosphates too much before realizing I was finally at zero. That coupled with the chemical overdose is probably the reason the tank doesn't look it's best. Hopefully things will level off soon.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Well that all sounds normal, nothing too dramatic. Congrats on getting the cyano under control that must feel good. How is your rescued Favia doing?
