Try testing/dosing in the A.M. This is when Alk. is at its lowest point.

Thanks vinny. I will try that and see how that works for me.

Corailine - Thank you! It did and then I screwed something else up :(... I think I stripped the tank of phosphates and then fed too much amino acids and caused a bacterial bloom. Others are helping me with the problem on another thread right now. The favia still appears to be recovering. I'll update that with some pics when the tank looks pretty again.

AHHH when I get one thing fixed I screw something else up. Others are assisting on getting this problem resolved.

It appears the tank has recovered and the corals are slowly starting to come back around.

Added some acans over the past few days. Three from a local reefer and 1 from the LFS. Unfortunately my phone cannot get the color right in the pictures but I'll post them up anyways. They weren't to happy with my man handling when taking them off their plugs and glueing them to the rock but hopefully they will start growing soon.

Check it out. My newest acan frag ate a snail. In this pic you can see the shell sticking out of the acan's mouth. The snail was in there for a couple days and then I noticed the shell laying on the rock near the acan. The shell was empty. Crazy if the acan really ate the snail and spit the shell out...

Started feeding oyster feast. I will be feeding this stuff every four days. I have been alternating feeding fish on one day then feeding corals the next day. I will be alternating reef energy and oyster feast on coral days. I will say that the corals really open up when the oyster feast hits the water. I have never seen acans open up that much. I will post about the food after I have been using it a while longer.

I think oyster feast is great. I have been using it for a little over a month and would say it has helped. I have noticed acans forming new polyps all the way around the different frags since using it. It is very potent and I use 2 drops every other day.

Time for a little update. I have been problem free for about a month more or less. I returned the IM reactor I was running and added a nano CPR reactor instead. The IM reactor broke and I didn't like how it was operating anyways. The CPR reactor works great. Easy to adjust and I can run GFO and carbon by seperating the media with a sponge. I moved the rocks around a bit to give the corals better light and open up the top of the tank a bit. I think it looks much better.
