    Any chance your Alk dropped? That can cause sand to calcify as well.

    That could have happened. I believe it happened when I over dosed the tank a while back. I was dosing in a low flow area for sometime and was increasing the amount I was dosing because I was not seeing the params rise. I noticed some precipitation on the walls of that chamber and started dosing in a higher flow area. This caused and overdose and the tank fogged up real bad for 3-4 days if I remember correctly. I figured that's where the extra alk and cal went.

    The stirring would have clued me in sooner to the problem. Other than that I guess stirring isn't necessary.

    Picked up a new acan this weekend. He looked bright yellow in the store so hopefully he will look the same in my tank when he gets all settled in. I didn't notice the green in the store like I do in this picture. I wish I could take pics like this all the time (I think I got lucky with this one).
