It grows very slowly. But I have zero phosphates and nitrates so there's not much for it to grow off of.

oldfishkeeper - as soon as the rocks come in I won't be able to help myself

brianj - as long as it keeps those nutrients down slow growth is fine with me

Still no rocks in the mail yet. Reef Cleaners shipped them Monday. I live in TX so hopefully they will arrive today. Website says 2-3 days for priority shipping so IDK. I want to be able to get the tank filled this weekend.

I made a little progress last night to get ready for when the rocks do come in. I got the DI filter added to the RO and started making some water. 0 TDS baby! I didn't run a DI on my last tank and learned the hard way that you absolutely need one. Was able to make about 6 gallons last night (this takes forever).

I believe it is Florida reef rock from Reef Cleaners and it did arrive on Friday. I of course got to work right away. But first I needed to change into aquarium construction attire :)

I spent 4 hours playing with the configuration of the rocks before I was happy. The wife definately helped out when I started getting frustrated. Here is the final scape and I am really happy with it.

I decided to go ahead and place putty in between the rocks to make sure nothing moved around. This stuff can be a little difficult to get perfect so I enlisted the wifes help again :)

So now that we have the scape completely finished, its time to fill with water!

It came out to approximately 25 gallons of system volume.

Popped in a piece of frozen shrimp to get the bacteria from the live sand going.
