I do have a light/fuge in one section in the back. So I guess I should look into covering the return section to keep algae out of the return pump. Thanks!

I completed my first chalice fragging. It wasn't really fragging but I'm still going to call it that :)

Part of the coral's skeleton broke when it was dropped at the LFS. I left it alone hoping all would be ok but it started falling away and tearing the skin. So I cut the broken piece off the main piece and superglued it to a piece of rubble rock. It has one polyp/mouth (?) so hopefully it will survive. The first picture shows the coral but I took this picture before it started to tear. It started tearing along that upper left hand side.

hey how long do you run your fuge light for and what time does it go on and off?

I got mine in and was thinking midnight to 6am but not sure that is long enough

I believe I have it running 8 hours right now. Unfortunately I can't run it on a reverse schedule because the light bleeds through the white acrylic back wall. I still need to figure out how I am going to keep light from bleeding through. So it comes on when the the whites start increasing and turns off when the whites are almost off. I think that is at 10am to 6pm. This reminds me that I may need to do some tweaking, thanks for the reminder :).

Midnight to 6am seems a bit short to me. Would there be any negatives to running it longer? Say 8-10 hours?

Not sure if there is a negative, probably not.. will start with 8 hr schedule and will have to see if it bleeds through the black tank

    Thanks

Another fish has been added to the family. The LFS called it a Wyoming Oscellaris. He's really cute and when he looks straight at you the white on his forehead makes him look like an orange and white iron man lol.

So far the two clowns have gotten along very nicely. I made sure to get a pretty small second clown. I'm hoping to get these two to pair up and spawn but I haven't even researched caring for the fry so I don't even know if I have a set up that would support breeding. But if they did they would have some cool color combinations I believe.

I also added another chalice to the tank. Upon research I have learned it is called a Hollywood Stunner lol. I love all the names these corals get :)

The feeders on the coral are HUGE so I had to move some things around to give this buy some space.

Here's a couple pics of the coral and a current FTS. Thanks for checking out my tank ;D.
