You just can't be sure... can you ;)

"We don't know the exact frequency and time of heat exposure capable of producing reversible or irreversible changes in spermatogenesis. Studies have shown significant but reversible changes after short-term heating. However, LC produce significant repetitive transient scrotal hyperthermia for years, and insufficient recovery time between heat exposures may cause irreversible or partially reversible changes in male reproductive function."

    The article above disagrees...

Um.. maybe not always but most of the time it is

Really? Sounds like free birth control! I've never heard of it, but I am going to make sure to keep it on my lap as much as possible. I wouldn't consider taking any steps possible to prevent unwanted mistakes an "injury" or "unfortunate". Wish me luck!

Hmmmmm, interesting responses to this "topic." In defense of mom, you have to understand the background of this. My mother is the queen of CNN. She absolutely terrorizes me about this kind of stuff. The most recent things: You can't go to the beach. Sharks might attack. You can't swim in lakes. There's a killer bacteria that will eat your face off. No cell phones in pockets (same reason as laptop). Then, of course when my boys got laptops for college - NO LAPTOPS ON THE LAP!!! THEY'LL BE STERILE FOR LIFE!!!! She doesn't just call once about this stuff - it's over and over and over. She means well. In the future, I think I'll just let her talk to Jwin directly! :cheesy: Give him a little taste of what I deal with....

As far as my take on the topic, I think there's probably some validity to it. How much? Not sure.

As far as you guys using the "laptop method" for birth control, ummmm don't call me if it doesn't work. ;)

While I agree with that statement, the average male human produces 75 - 100 million little tadpoles daily.

So assuming your laptop heated them all up and murdered them all with it's evil heat rays then it's not a real loss at all you can just get more by doing absolutely nothing.

    Just throwing that out there.

 You poor dear. My mother is the same way only she gets all of her "information" from magazines. Even if it's stuff that she makes up just to get you to change your behavior, she always says that she read it somewhere. Drives me nutso!

I understand completely. We also can't go to Six Flags (somebody got their head chopped off once) - I have to tell her we've been after the fact. My poor sister gets it even worse - she has younger kids. She tells her what they can't eat (somebody died eating that), where they can't go (somebody died going there), what they can't wear (somebody died wearing that), what they can't play with (somebody died chewing on that toy). You get the picture....we do a lot of eye rolling, but it sure gets old after a while!

His brother recently had a little girl (my niece for all intents and purposes!! LOL) and she WILL NOT leave them alone.

Oh you can't bring here here, you shouldn't do this, you can't do that, don't do this, give me that. SHUSH WOMAN!!

    LOL

Fortunately (for myself at least) I'm not as pleasant :shifty:
