This build started about 1 1/2 years ago. I couldnt find a tank that would fit in the space that the wife said I had to work with. I bought enough acrylic on line to build a tank that is 3'x2'x2'.<a href="http://s888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/?action=view&amp;current=110_2203.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i888.photobucket.com/albums/ac86/peppie53/New%20Tank/110_2203.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I have never worked with acrylic in my life.(lots of woodworking). How hard can it be?
I did alot of reading and research before I cut and glued anything.Sorry I dont have pics of this part of the build. There are some details that must be followed to weld acrylic. It took about 1 week to get the tank put together.
The plan was to have a 40gal sump with this setup. As you will see, things change.

So lets see if I can do this right. This is a pic of a 20gal AIO that was built before the 70gal was competed

You're welcome. Is the tank on the stand, the 40 gallon? How big is this other one? They look great, BTW.

Shortly after I got the tank glued I got laid off from work. My budget for this build just went south. The wife said I should do something smaller. So I did. In the next 12 mo. I built 2 20gal AIO's They turned out nice. One worked better than the other. As always bigger is better.LOL. So now I have enough equipment to power the 70gal. less a good HOB skimmer.

    This should do the trick.

The tank that is on the stand(with water in it) is the second of the 20gal AIO.
The large empty one is 73.333333 gal.
In the year that I have been reading on line about reef tanks I have not come across this size AIO. I'm sure there are some out there, But I have yet to see one

Most all the AIO's I have seen Have one return pump and the water flow starts at one end and flows thur all of the chambers then is returned into the tank.I did that for the first two tanks, but wanted to do it different with this large tank.
I want the water to flow into a center chamber(that will house the HOB skimmer) then to the right into a chamber that will hold micro algae, then to the return. On the left side of the skimmer it will flow thur a media chamber, carbon/Chemi Pure, then into the return.
The return pumps, One MaxiJet 1200 @ aprox 400gph and one QiuteOne 1200 @ apox 400gph

That needs to go into this

I want the two return areas to be connected.
