Hey guys just a quick question. I absolutely love the large angelfish species and understand that the care for each will vary, but in general are they like the dwarf where its one per tank or do people have success keeping multiple?
I do not have the tank or plans to buy these guys anytime soon but down the road would certainly consider it. A lfs had a beautiful gray belly regal angelfish that really made me look twice and wish I had a larger tank.

it really depends on what type of angel you have and how big your tank will be. If the tank is big enough you can get away with it depending on the angel. You want to make sure the body style/color is completely different.

There really is no general rule that says you can only keep one per tank, whether they are large or dwarf angels. What it boils down to is the tank size and the environment you create. I've seen tanks with only one and I've seen tanks with multiple large and dwarf angels living together in harmony. I currently have a pair of dwarf, a regal, and a couple large angel (one is still a juvi) in my 300, with plans to add more once I find them. At one point, I had 8 or 9 of various sizes.

Thanks for the input guys. I figured it was such a general question its to hard to give an answer with specific species and tank sizes. In the future I want a larger tank with a Potters and a Flame dwarf angel and then a regal and either a blue girdle or blue face angel. Just trying to see if such a combo would ever be possible I can only assume it would require a large tank os 180+gal
