Thanks for the replies. Hopefully she snaps out of it and returns to normal.

Thanks for the link. I found it funny that other people have had hippos that like to splash! This one would occasionally swim quickly towards the top and tail whip right before the surface and splash a good amount of water. Pretty funny.

I agree that most wild caught fish rarely live longer than 5-10 years in most private home aquariums. I was blown away when the guy I bought her from showed he to me. Her and a show size purple tang ~8" (that's still doing well) came with the fish tank. I felt a great deal of responsibility when I took over ownership of these fish because you just don't see them this big in the hobby... Maybe at public aquariums where they are captured large and/or taken care of by experts.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
This is a case were I would probably go the experts or maybe even a public aquarium person.

I agree it might just be a case of this tang has reached it's like expectancy, and has some innate reason for an early decline.

You're fish are surely beautiful and look very healthy.

I sure hope she snaps out of it and lives another 5 years or so, it would may me sad as well to loose such a good fish.
