I was thinking about hooking up an old Aquaclear 802(Hagan 70) powerhead to my Remora Pro. These powerheads produce a ton of flow. I was using two for my return pump from my sump for a while. I'm currently using a Maxijet 1200 for the Remora and I'm not really happy with the amount of skimmate I'm getting. The hose size is too small to accept the 802 but I'm sure I can find a larger hose and an adaptor.

I'm just wondering if I'll get so many bubbles that it will blow the lid off the Remora.

The 802 powerhead is good for 400 gph with no head. The Mag 3 does 350 so they are pretty close. I'll give it a try. I just need to find the necessary adapters since the output of the 802 has a large diameter than the MJ 1200.
