Large Snail

    Does anyone have any idea what kind of snail this is? The opening in the cave is 2" dia.

    i think its a cowrie

    Either a bubble or a +1 on a cowrie. If it wasn't curled up in its shell when you took the pic, then it is a cowrie. If curled up it could be either one. No bubble snails are good, and only a few cowries are good, I would check for species. PM me if you get a closeup, and I can identify it by the markings on the shell.

    Thank you nu-2reef & johnmaloney. I will get a close up as soon as I get my daughters graduation pictures off of the camera. It hides in one of the caves during the day and comes out at night. So far it hasen't hurt anything, it does a good job on the algae.
