    But I wonder how many are endemic to Australia? Most of the fish from Australia seem to be found in other areas, such as the Coral Sea, Vanuatu, etc. Does this cover these as well? Just curious...

    Great news! What kind of protection does the sanctuary provide? It is nice to see these kind of reserves being out up all over the world.

    The sanctuaries are no fishing, no spear fishing, no commercial fishing, no removal of anything from within the area.

    The only things that are permitted are swimming and scuba diving.

    No if the same fish can be found somewhere else, they can get it from there.

    They just wont be able to take them from the protected areas (which will basically be all australian reefs)

    Some fish look different depending on region too. Yellow clown gobies and midas blennies can either be bright yellow or be pale yellowish brown/pink etc. So some fish might not be available in the coloring someone prefers I guess.

    yay for this too! Go Aussies go! The comment about killing whales to determine if killing them is affecting their stocking - that's pretty laughable really.
