Was looking at my aquarium this evening and noticed I couldn't find the lawnmower blenny. We lifted rocks, moved rocks, looked in the corners...no trace of him. We had just seen him last night. It's like he got abducted my aliens or something :huh2:

Any of you just ever had a fish up and disappear??? My Flame Hawkfish had been chasing him around a bit, but never seemed to hurt him or anything.

Only thing I can figure is he killed him...now not sure why I can't find a body unless my cleaning crew got him that quick.

That is what I suspect, it jumped out!
I would worry more about your Flame Hawk and your inverts however! Hawkfish will feast on them at some point from the info I have gathered!

Well, the blenny was sitting at the front of the aquarium this morning. We watched him, and seems he has found a little cave up under a large piece of live rock and has been hiding up in there. So false alarm...

As for the flame, all of I have right now are snails and a couple green emerald crabs. Read the same about the flame hawkfish, but read also that people have them and they don't touch the inverts. We'll see. The squirrel fish we have seems to far more interested in the snails and crabs than the hawk fish.

These tanks are quit the little adventure :)

That was the first thing I did. I do have egg crate all of the top of my tank though to minimize that risk.

The only thing I find behind my tank almost on a daily basis is this crazy Zebra snail I have ::)

Keep an eye on...they do jump. Usually if they are unhappy with something in tank.

Glad to hear he showed up.

Sometimes fish just like to hide out for a while esp if new to tank.

I have had just disappear into "nowhere" before and was not so lucky to have them return.

    It happens. :-/
