My LB went carpet surfing yesterday and it didn't turn out very good :( . Do the blennies have a reputation of being jumpers? I would like to get another blenny in the future and a couple of other fish that may be jumpers also, what do I do to solve this problem? I have a canopy on the tank and it seems like putting eggcrate across the entire top of the tank will be a major hassle. Thanks for any ideas?

I had one as well and it never jumped out of my tank in the year I had it. The egg crate will definitely help out for the chance it does decide to jump. I also have a Snowflake Moray Eel and it never jumped out either. I guess alot has to do with luck and environment. If your aqauscape is to the liking of your livestock, they will not jump!

I had one jump too. Found it a few weeks later behind the tank and it wasn't pretty. Unfortunately, most gobies and blennies have a reputation for jumping and some even find a way to do so through what little space for escape egg crate provides so you pretty much take your chances when it comes to these types of fish.

I've never had a problem before but I had a tiny one I tanked in my own 180. In no time it had grown into an incredibly fat, 4+ inch long obnoxious beast of a fish. Still liked it. Always left "kiss" marks on the glass. Then one day cleaning the glass I noticed I didn't see any marks in a few days. The damn thing disappeared! I'll miss it, but I won't miss the attitude.

I had never seen him jump before but he would really scoot back and forth across the tank when he felt like it so maybe he just got a little crazy! He was full of personality so I miss him being in the tank and would like to get another sometime in the future.

Anything else I could do besides the egg crate? It seems like it would be a hassle to have to deal with it everytime I wanted to get in the tank.
