    U only get burn on a tv if the same image is left on the screen for a long time, lcd is great upto a 40 inch anything over 40" plasma is the way, i have a 42" hitachi and they offer 4 years warranty, its superb in every way...

    I think the biggest difference will be brands. The good Sonys are always sharper side by side. I went with a Philips and the Sony was slightly better but I just didn't want to pay more. I got mine at Sam's club a couple years ago and have been really happy with it.
    One thing to look for these days is a fiber optic plug. my TV doesn't have one so I have to use HDMI cable.... and I have ATT UVERSE... there are issues with HDMI and UVERSE if I had a fiber optic connection it would be at the top of it's game. All of that doesn't really matter though if you're not going to have fiber optic TV like FIos or UVERSE.
