Today I decided to take a large piece of my base rock and break it up into smaller pieces. After putting it into the tank I noticed it was leaching some type of white milky looking stuff out of the fresh side of the break. Any ideas or comments on what this is and is it bad/dangerous?
The rock is white and brown.. I think it is limestone based.

    Thanks,

It's probably just dust from breaking it up. You could have killed a creature of some sort too, but I think it's just dust. Did it stop or does it continue to do it?

Not really, it continues to leach out of a tiny hole, like there is pressure pushing it out. You think this can be harmful? I took it out for now so I don't know how long it would have continued, but it did continue to come out for ten seconds or so while in the water.
