    Well right off the bat I can say that with any threaded PVC PVC or ABS threaded plastic fittings main cause of failure is the heat generated on the threads when tightening the locking shank nut that is usually the cause for B/H leaking guys simple over tighten the locking nut on a gladded thread . Always apply a drop of oil or pipe dope on the shank to ease the friction . That info is based on 45 yrs of plumbing and electrical piping and under ground wiring conduit installation .

    And just always just finger tighten them until you get water pressure on them then tighten a 1/8th of a turn until it stops leaking simply never crank down on then when dry this will pull a thread also . And add some plumbers putty around the gasket also to rule out any chips or rough surfaces on a 5.00 plastic bulkhead .
