Does anyone know a product I can put on a leaking pipe to stop it. I have one pipe that is leaking at a joint and it will be a real pain to cut it out and re-plumb it.

You can use plumbers epoxy or the marine epoxy we use to stick rocks together. It's kind of like playdough

Hey any two part epoxy will work, the type like playdough you mush together. JB Weld makes one that is safe and non-toxic that is for marine use and will cure even underwater. I have used this one many times and am very satisfied.

    Hope that helps,
    Jake

P.S. You can get it at any hardware store where I'm from so shouldn't be hard to find.

most shortcuts are temporary at best.

Any glue/epoxy you use should be done on dry pipe, so cut off the flow through the pipe and dry it. Any water pressure on the pipe at all will deform (and therefore defeat) any glue you put on there.

Tapes just give you some time.

You can get good clamp on seals that if maintained are pretty permanent. They're not cheap.

Ultimately your best off taking out the leaking pipe, and putting it back together. If it's not a lot of pipe replace the entire run instead of cutting a section out.. Cap it on one end, hook one end to a hose, and make sure it holds pressure for 24 hours before installing it.

Just to update and close out this post I used a two part marine epoxy and it has solved the problem while I figure out how to replace the section at a later date for a permanent fix.
