Leather corals acting up?

    I have two leather frags in tank, both from same "mother" -- same general height in tank, flow, light...one is growing/expanding just great...other just droops/or stays curled up most of the time. :-/

    For certain there is some condition different between the two. I am just clueless as to what. (same even if I move them) --- like one got all the good genes and other got crappy ones.

    A shiny appearance on the capitulum(flat surface at top of octocorals base) usually signifies sloughing/shedding of the mucus layer which is natures way or removing detritus, bacteria and algae from accumulating!
