Got a leather two weeks ago. Since then, it has developed something. Almost looks like green mold. What is it, and how do I get rid of it. Would hate to loose this thing.

Kinda looks like a bit of algae. I would first try a turkey baster and see if you can blow it off. How old is your tank?

Does it peel off (like a mat of cyano)? Or is an honest to goodness discoloration that is embedded in the coral?

OK this can't be good. Tried to rub it off and part of the leather tore. It does not rub off, kinda, but not really.

Ouch, Will be two days at least before he can get a dip. All stores are closed. And who knows if my LFS has a dip in stock.

Hi, unfortunately it looks like dying tissue. You may have gotten a diseased leather. Talk to the LFS and maybe they will work with you (some take Coral back to quarantine and try to nurse it back to health). Your other alternative is to cut off the dead part and give the healthy part a fighting chance.
