leather is going fast i think

Well I got a umbrella leather about 10 days ago.
The bag got busted dearing shipment so when I got it I put it in to the tank
It has never really opened up but it does changed shape and some polys come out a little bit
To day I looked at the underneath part of the leather and it is turning brown and there is 1 spot were it is all the way throw the leather leaving a hole
Is it a goner

my leather is the only thing mest up in the tank

 

Your alk should be 2.5 min
your pH should be around 8.2
that should help everything in your tank.
Put additives in at the rate the manufacturer suggests until you reach these levels.

 

Kent marine superbuffer-dKH will raise PH and ALK for you.

 

I believe you have a Toadstool Leather Coral. It is damaged but they are pretty tough, it should repair itself but if it seems to get worse, cut the head and as much good stalk as you can with it and wedge or glue to a rock or plug.

so that is taken care of i hope

I'm having some problems with my toadstool as well. I'd leave it let it be. Try to put a little more water movement on it. It should be fine in a couple days.
The super buffer should help it as well.
Don't frag as yet. Wait another 3 days or so and check for improvement.

 

I concur. If after a week or so there is no improvement, follow my earlier recommendation.
