leather problems

    i just bought a big toadstool leather abputh 3 days ago and the polyps still wont come out how long is the acclimation time for them to fully open.

    They can stay closed up and look bad for up to a week at a time. They are pretty stout so I am guessing it is just getting used to his new world.

    yea he opens up but his polyps wont come out, do u think it has to do with its placment its my center piece good lighting and medium flow.

    I agree with Reefnut, when I got my TS it took about a week before his tenticles came out. They prefer bright lighting and low to moderate flow. Make sure your checking your paras. Luna

    I have a few in my tank, had them for about a month..
    2 of mine done the same thing.. I though I was going to lose them..

    Then two days later they both reopened..
    They shed there outer " skin " sometimes..
    And look better then befor..
    I shoot alittle planton stuff there way now and then , seems like they enjoy it..

    They are very hardy.. mushroons are nice also, and hardy..

    Put the leather in an area of good flow or direct a powerhead in its direction and see if that doesn't help. Leathers will never close up if they are kept in med/high flow.
