What else do you have in your tank? What are yourwater params? The toady needs a little less prestine water params than a clam. Some fish, snails and shrimp love to munch on clams. ;)

I am not sure if either one is good for a 15g tank, toadstools grow pretty fast imo, I have mine in my 120g under 500watt lighting and it is growing rapidly and in a 15g tank it would crowd eventually. And in a smaller 15g tank your water needs to be pristine and almost perfect to sustain a clam even though they need a tad bit of stuff to filter feed upon. The Maxima clam also grow to 8 inches or more so it would also outgrow your tank. If I were you and wanting to get a clam, I would get a crocea clam they are a smaller clam and look just as pretty and are a sand clam so they dont burrow in rock and are easier to move if you want to upgrade to a different tank.
