I transferred my leathers to a smaller tank and its been 2/3 days and they seem to be shrinking at a high rate. Everything is the same just a little colder 77.4 instead of 80. Salinity is 1.019 instead of 1.024.

Should i raise the salt level to bring him back? He was about 10"-12" tall now hes about 4" tall and shriveled.

A drop in salinity like that is definitely not good, 1.019 is too low for most corals. Between the temp change and the salinity change I'd say it's likely a good cause of the distress, not to mention there are probably lots of other changes such as nutrient levels, light levels, flow levels, alkalinity/calcium etc. Between all of those it's probably pretty stressed out.

If I drop anything under 1.024 my Leather will close up,
I would reccomend raising it a bit at a time until he is happy and opened. Coral's should be kept between 1.024 and 1.026 the temp was a big change for him also...along with the others listed above...in the other post////

that temp is fine as long as it is stable.

the problem isn't the temp per se, but the sudden change in temp (and SG).

Leathers are very hardy and should eventually perk back up...

I would raise the SG as suggested and just try to keep the tank stable WRT parameters.

Got it, thanks for the help. I will post back in a few hours seeing if the raise a little helped.
