Once in a while i have to go away overnight for business. Do I leave the lights on till the next day when I get home? Or should I just leave the blue light on for that time period.
I have a heater so I can set that so the tank doesn't cool down.
But what to do about the lights?
    Thanks,
    Ed

buy a timer. walgreens sells a basic analog one for $8. Plug the light into that.

If you have separate plugs for your daylights and actinics, even better, buy a timer for each.

never worry about it again. corals do better when the light patterns are consistent anyway - it's a good investment even if you didn't leave overnight.

I'm not sure why you would leave the lights on overnight,?, but i would just plug them into a timer. If the "blue" ones are moon lights they will be fine left on 24 hrs.

if you have one of those light fixtures that has 2 or 3 switches and only 1 plug
and normally you put one on 1st and then a bit later the others ( I do this, leaving actinics on for 30 mins and then bringing in the other white tubes)

then a timer means you cant replicate this when you go away

so if thats the case - you just have to use for the odd occassions you go away overnight and on these occasions all your lights will come on together and all go off together

Leaving the lights on for that long is going to cause algae to bloom. Get a timer.
