I've come to the realization that there's no way I'll be able to move out into an apartment in a few years and keep my tank. It'll be hard enough finding a place that will allow a tank like that, plus the extra space I'd need for my barrel.. It's just not doable.

So I decided to leave the hobby now instead of when I move out. I'd be saving money on salt + food + etc. I've gotta find people to take the fish, coral, and LR, then I can start getting rid of some equipment..

I hope to start the tank up again when I get a house later on! Going to do a diy stand, bigger sump, LEDs, etc.

If you got a biocube you could take it with you when you move…..just a thought!

You could go for a 29 gallon FOWLR as my daughter has and it's run much like a freshwater tank, with only a HOB filter & powerhead & lights.

    Sorry to hear.

so sorry to hear :( however, I know there are stages of life that don't always lend itself well to a reef tank. I did a FOWLR for years - it ran with healthy fish with minimum work. I think you'll want to keep something since you have the bug :)

I was thinking of maybe having a cube, but then I'd have to put that extra money for that, since I don't have the proper equipment. Gotta save more money for school!

I just wanna do it right when I start up again

Except my tank is a 90g, and it'll be my first place away from my parent's.. Not very doable. Lol
