Yep 6 months later when you are getting bored, you will get the itch. But you're right, downsizing can be expensive still.

Depending on the housing market, buy a house rather than rent. Get a 4 bedroom and rent the other 3 to pay the mortgage! Little extreme just to keep the tAnk but it could be a real great investment. Think about it?

If you are young and in college, you will probably be moving around alot. I was able to keep up with a 29 gall fresh water, but even that was a pain with the amount of moves that you make as a college student. From the time I started college to the time I stopped, I moved 4 times. College is expensive, tuiton, rent, food, BEER, not a whole lot of time if you are studying, plus part time job to pay for the BEER, etc...It might be worth just putting your equipment in storage and waiting until you are settled. You have your whole life ahead of you. Than again, you could set up a nano tank, you could do alot with a 10 gallon and not spend a whole lot on setup.

It is totally possible zero. I had a 120g in an apartment no problem. I now have an 85g in my apartment. Never had an issue with landlords and aquarium in an apt. My neighbor had a 220 in his apt with no problems. I was in school full time during the 120 had an evening job to pay for school apt and still managed to run the 120. If you do fowlr you can run it pretty cheap. Just something to consider.

Thanks! But I'm still going to bow out. I'll definitely be back when I think it's doable!

Hope to see ya back soon.
I know how ya feel. I simply did too much moving around the last 5 years. Didn't want to set up a tank where I wasn't sure I would be there for several years. Moving tanks is too much trouble.
