I'm thinking about adding some supplemental lighting so I can run my photo period longer. Right now I run my par30 LEDs 13 hours each day, 7" off the water and have not had any issues.

I am in no hurry, and accent lighting does not need to be intense as it is only for color and to be able to view the tank longer. I would like to get something relatively inexpensive, low power, that won't ruin the rimless look. Anyone have any ideas?

All feedback is welcome. Thanks in advance.

I've looked at Ecoxotic EcoPico strips (because they are dimmable), but I think it would look way too blue during the day when used in addition to my par30s (3RB/2CW combo - 14K look).

ON their website, Ecoxotic says stunner strips include int the box...

    Stunner LED Strip
    Linking Cables
    Hardware Mounting Kit
    End Plug

Is 'end plug' the same as the power supply or would I have to buy that separately?

    Stunner LED Strips - 6watt, 12in.

I was thinking maybe the magenta/12K white or the 445nm royal blue/12K strip...they both seem to have some magenta/violet color to them.

If you do not want it too bright, have one made with 420nm violet LEDs, it will provide a nice actinict effect.

You can diy, that is one of the best ways to go with LEDs, as you get what you want.

Cheaper too I guess when you look at it.

I'd like for dimming capabilities. So it comes to ~$70 for DIY, or the same price or close for a stunner strip.

I like the sounds of Magenta/453nm Blue for accent. I think when they say "end plug," they just mean the female connection that can be used to daisy chain the strips together. I think power supplies are sold separately to keep costs down because they can be daisy chained as well as added into their Panorama fixtures without the need for a power supply.
