By not plug and play, they mean that you will need to solder/crimp the connections to the LED's themselves and the driver.
You will also have to adjust the current of the driver to match the rated current of the LEDs. This can be done easily with a MultiMeter.

The kit includes basically everything you will need except tools to assemble, and wire to connect the LED's (wire included is normally too short).
    Crimp Tool and crimps
    Soldering Iron and Solder
    extra wire
    MultiMeter

guess ill have to figure out how to adjust the current and find the current of the leds when that time comes because im clueless on how to do that.. everything else shouldnt be a problem. Thanks for input. Wonder when i order these if i can change the bulb colors up a bit as well. Wouldnt mind going to 4 blue 4 royal blue and 1 uv for each fixture

rapid is more than happy to swap out led's in kits. Might cost just a tad more to adjust prices for a more expensive LED. I have no idea what their pricing will be on the UV yet.

Just check the detailed descriptions on each specific LED to figure out the rated Amperage. Use the lowest of them set the driver to that. It is very easy to do.

nah, you set the drivers max to the highest amp of the lowest amp of the led on the string! So prob your uv which is 700 mA if i recall right

Got it! basically whatever my lowest amp is on my led is what im setting the driver on for max. so if i turn up the brightness all the way on my leds im not surpassing the max power on my leds ;D

easy enough!! thanks guys for the help! Thinking a grand total of 8 rb 8 blue and 2 uv should be pretty good for a actinic/moonlight for a 55g. Kinda thinking about a green or a red in the mix but not sure how it would look.
