it really is (i only recently checked on the price) but i was thinking more of what do you folks think of the led colour choices and distributions. i know a guy who does custom leds near my place but before i can head his way with a "project" i would like to know a little more on what I'm doing.

anyone have a link to leds for dummies article or decent base read?

    Guys,

I have to say at some point humping the same low cost solution isn't doing anyone a favor. I'm sure reffbreeders are great lights and they may be the best value out there. There is however a whole range of reasons to buy different lights. The way the housing looks, your controllability preferences, quality of components, sheer bloodyminded desire to spend more, etc.

At some point we have to stop turning into every LED thread into an unpaid commercial for a sponsor and start offering nuanced responses to questions.

Geismann has a long history of producing insanely good stuff (I've never used it, I'm sort of repeating what I've read so correct me if I'm wrong). The color selection seems to lean towards the European preference for a little more white than we like in the states. I guess that makes me not a useful source of information, but someone here must have some thoughts on the fixture OP is asking about.
