hey you guys, i'm currently in the market for a new light fixture, preferably a LED fixture. I have been told that i should do a RapidLED DIY kit but i am not sure how i would put a fixture together with the space that i have around my tank. while looking however i came across the Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System. Reef Aquarium Lighting & LED Lights: Marineland Reef Capable LED Lighting System i was wondering if anyone had experience with this.

would this alongside 2 HO T5s, be enough for my 75 gal (soon to be) reef?

im kinda new to this hobby and dont know much about the lighting, any help at all is be greatly apprecited :)

    ideal price range = $350 to $450

The marineland fixtures generally won't put out enough PAR for most corals, especially at a 18" depth on a 75. I did a rapidled kit on my 55g and just fabricated my own mounts for it. It takes some planning, and other people have done a much better job than I did with their mounting, but for the price range you are asking I will have to let others chime in on premanufactured units.

haha thanks for the advice, i was literally seconds away from buying the marineland fixture...

if i was running 2 t5s on my 75 alongside a rapidled kit, do you think i would need the 48led kit or the 36?

I'd get the 48, add 10 violets and drop the T5 altogether!
