Im gonna be making a solderless LED fixture from rapidled.com and was wondering how many leds i would need for one side of the 110. Need to know how many of each led i'll need like the blue/white ratio

I think you might need to give a bit more detail than just the size of the tank. (wat you keeping, how tall is your tank etc). I think the ratio is more of your own preference. I like my tank bluer than white so I woulda go for 55% blue 40% white and 5% violet. However that would make your tank look " darker" becuase white led would give out more lumens and your eyes will feel it is a lot "brghter".

Ithink in that case, you might want the 60 degree lense to focus your light a bit mroe to get deeper as it is kinda tall tank. I would say about around 70 LEDs in total. As for ratio, it is still up to u. I would always include some UV/violet LEDs to provide a more vivid coloration.

Ii would suggest do the whole tank together, just like ppl don't suggest use different watt mh (for eg: a 250 w and a 400w side by side) on the same tank. It can creat uneven lighting in the tank and " hot spot" where the light overlap .when u have a mh and led side by side , that effect might be even worse as led's light beam is a lot more focus than mh. It could either mean dead spot or hot spot depend on ur lense for led
