ok so im thinking of upgrading my frag tanks to 400w halides to gain the fastest grow out capabilities, but i was wondering if any growers have an led light that gives them the growth of a 400 w mh

I can only wish that my budget isn't an issue.

Orphek Pr-156... But both that and the 400watt MH are going to fry your coral. Not grow it faster... At a certain point you cause photoinhibition from too much light. Both of those fixtures will likely do that in a shallow tank like that.

Go for a 250w 10k bulb with a decent reflector. Or 2 AI sol blues. I love mine and that way you can adjust if a coral is getting too much light.

It really depends on what you are growing: Softies, LPS, SPS?

Due to the tank dimensions listed, LED does not seem like the practical choice, but if price is no object, I can recomend something. Just need to know what you are trying to grow.

I'm using Inwatter LED in a small frag tank in the sump. It's so strong for my small frag tank but my SPS so far look good.

If the budget is not an issue you might look into SFILIGOI LEDs or Orphet LEDs. I know SFILIGOI does custom made LED pendant to meet you need. One pendant can cover your tank.

I forgot to mention that I'm using SFILIGOI pendant for my main tank.

That is 1 amazing unit, and for Gcarrol it is 3 tanks plumbed together 2 of them being sps and 1 being lps/softies, my only concern was I have lost a few lps such as my candy canes which do great until I added led's and colt corals so im a bit skeptical on the led's, thus my current led's are just being used over my fuge atm, and 1 on a test tank
