    Hi guys,

    I'm thinking of ordering an 120 w LED fixture. These are the LEDs:

    Dimmer One(30 LEDs): Warm White(3500-4500K)-8pcs,Neutral White(6500-7500K)-8pcs,Cool White(10000-12000K)-6pcs,420-4pcs,520-2pcs,660-2pcs;

    Dimmer Two(25 LEDs): Royal Blue 450-17pcs,Blue 460-8pcs

    Is this a good ratio for 55 LEDs for SPS?

    I am by far not an expert on LED lighting, but that actually looks like a pretty good mix. My only notes are that I believe most people now stay with one white, either neutral or cool (although I personally have 2-1 mix of CW to NW on my nano cube). Keep total # of blues (RB, BL, UV) at a 2-1 ration to whites. From there a 2-1-1 ratio of royals, blues, and UV (which are really TV - 410-420nm), and maybe 2 green or cyan (not both, either or, I went with cyan 490-520nm), and 1 or 2 deep red (660nm). Seems they actually did a good job of mixing everything.

    I think I like it!

    Not quite full spectrum, but that's much more than what the common all-one-type of white plus royal blues will give.

    The peaks you're missing to make something a bit more "full spectrum" is violet and/or UV, as well as green and/or cyan. And depending on what/who you believe, some amount of red.

    @evolved, doesn't this combination have green + violet? 420-4pcs,520-2pc. I thought 420 is violet and 520 is green?

    Ah, indeed. I glossed right over those in the string of text.

    I actually did the same when I first read the combos! I had my post already to tell him the same thing (to add UV/TV, green/cyan, and deep red), then re-read and saw they were in there 8)

    How strong should I start with the LED intensity? I'm currently using 4x24 t5 with ATI bulbs over my 20 gallon long (upgrading to 29 soon). Do I start 30% then increase by 5% increments each weak? What's the recommended maximum intensity should I be aiming for before corals start bleaching? I have birdnest, Acopora, LPS, and RBTA. In addition, LED should be 10 inches above water line I assume?

    Wow, that is a lot of light for a 20 gallon! Definitely start low, 30% should be fine. Most end up around 70%, but you will have to see how it goes as that is a relatively small and shallow tank. I would go a week and then increase 5-10% and keep a close eye out for any bleaching. 10" above water should be fine, although what optics are you getting?
