Well I am in the process of switching over from Mh to LED. Been doing A LOT of research and i think that i have a game plan for the build. I have ordered and received the 48 inch MakerLED heat sink. I have been researching the LED layout and this is what i have come up with and looking for a little input on it. Will have the blue, royal blue on one channel of my apex, whites on a separate channel and uv, green, red on a separate channel then a few royal blues on a separate channel for moonlights. Haven't decided which drivers yet though.

This will be kinda of a slow build. It is my first one so stick with me and i will do my best but help will be greatly appreciated. I will get some pics of the Heat sink when i get home tonight with all the parts that come with it.

Im currently building (planning) for a 90g (48x18x24). My research tells me you should scrap the regular blues, add more uv and replace the red and green w/ the OCW from LED GROUP BUY!

What size tank are you building for? If similar to my size, why a single 48" fixture vs. 2 x 24" or 18"

Well pretty much comes down to versatility and really what's the point in having 2 24 inch when they would be touching anyways.

i was think 2 x 18" for myself. Adding another 18" if i decide to upgrade in the future vs buying a whole new fixture later. Only downside i saw was 2 less fans.

Well I'm running mine length wise from end to end. Besides if worst comes to worst I'll just cut it.

    good point.

here is what im considering running.

    32 Royal Blue (2 channels of 16)
    16 Neutral White (1 channel of 16)
6 Hyper Violet ( 12 total combined with TV on a channel)
    6 True Violet
    5-10 OCW (1-2 channels of 5) Ocean Coral White - LEDGroupBuy.com

i am still thinking what i am going to use for power, but i ultimately want to control this with an apex.
