Hello This is my very first time going into a Forum.
I recently got my 55 gallon tank, Its a 48x13 Inch.
I really just know the basic and i need couching!
I want to grow soft coral. Nothing major, The LED lights at the store are 500$ Well.... I dont have that kind of money, I looked for LED light for Reef and theres is some for under 150$.

Offcourse the people at the store tell me that its no way in hell possible to grow anything (for the money).

My Friend got a similar for his 30 galllon tank and his doing fine.

HERE ARE THE FEATURES OF THIS LIGHT.

    WILL IT WORK??????

There are better options for an led, including some of the reefbreeders units.A 2or4 bulb t-5 light would also work well.

Your LFS sounds like they know what they're talking about. They are 100% correct and even the "reef capable" one is junk. What did they suggest you buy?

I have a Reef capable or too and I agree they are not good. Mine is used on my fuge because I like the lighting color better than a 6500 CFL

If your not planning on having hard to keep corals why spend the extra money for an led? I would go with a t5. Aqua traders sells them cheap.

You should check out Reef Breeders new controllable fixtures. I'm in the market for LED's too and this is one that I'm considering.
