another neat little look! I'm guessing 10 Cree xp's should be fine for that but maybe fo some blues to calm it down! If you're going dimmable, may as well add a few more than you think you'll need and dim it down! That will prolong the life of the led's and cur down on heat as you won't be running at 100%

    good luck!

That is similar to what style I'm looking to do. I'll prob cut that system in half and that should be more then enough. Then if I want to grow corals later on down the road I'll be set for that also. I love all the input. So much good information. I currently don't have access to a computer (doing this on iPad) but will post pics when I do get near a regular computer.

Maybe consider getting solderless LEDs then! They make a little bracket for them that way if you wanna consolidate some day you can just pull em out and reuse all the LEDs and wires! But by then LEDs should be cheap as heck! Love my iPad but not for comparing multiple windows!

Do you recommend anywhere to order these solderless LEDs?

Have you looked at any finished fixtures? Depending on how you're arranging the tanks, you may be able to just run some Reefbrites across them. It would still be pretty cheap, but they would carry warranties and much better waterproofing.

What do you think about these lights I found on eBay? I'm thinking of ordering one and see how they work. Go to eBay.com and search "230717598874" that is the listing number.

Or would this be a better setup?

    eBay listing number: 120817059365

Keep in mind it is only for 10gal tanks

Who knows man! What are they, who makes them! etc! For that price you could buy them and hope! Non dimmable though, so keep that in mind! Either have to adjust height or drop led's! If ya got the spare cash. experiment!

you still need alot of stuff though! heatsinks, wires, power source, thermal epoxy, optics etc! There's an easy $35
