    I'm a big fan of LED's. They create much more shimmer than halides. Great for fish only aquariums.

    (billy's) A+ now thats impresive do you know what kind of led's dos tha have i a, creating a DYI led lamp and i am gadering reaserch let me know!!!

    Billy buddy, you need to make a better probe holder than that!! :D

    Use egg crate and create an "L" and use that if needed....

    What fixture is that again? And what was the quantum set to sunlight or electronic?

    I have 2 diy led lighting fixtures on my 90 gallon mixed reef and love them. My tank temp has dropped by 4 deg and most of my corals have almost doubled in size over the past 6 months. Eacl fixture has 12 luxen 3led bulbs w/ half blue and halh white. I have 2 t5 ho lamps that i added just to allow a little color varience. Here are a few pics of my tank a couple with leds and t5s and one with just blue leds.
