Interesting. Even if they and the heat sink is fan cooled? I wonder what the loss is in terms of hours. I'm already cutting PAR by not using optics. Don't want the spot effect from them.

I was taught to give a maximum of 80% of spec for them to survive to their rated lifetime, given sufficient cooling.

I was reading the data sheets and the whites still have over 70% lumen maintenance running 700ma 50,000 hrs. I'll have to check into it further I guess.

right on and shoot a post if you find a source for those 30w monsters that have started showing up.
Post your diagram if you've drawn it up.

Sorry to disappoint but all my drawings are done by hand on graph paper. I can't justify buying design software for as little as I'd use it and sketch up 7 hates Vista as much as I do. You'll just have to look at pics of cuts and finished circuitry.

You don't have access to a camera?

You need to give the doorman your membership card on the way out.

Seriously, why not use a scanner or do it the even-less-specialized way with taking a picture...?

Why would I scan my drawings, make files, and upload when I already said there'd be pics coming with cuts and finished wiring? And before that I wrote that when the time comes there'll be loads of pics and very detailed information on the build. But of course you'd know that if you'd read the entire thread.
