So I used a pair of these fixtures for about a year and then they began to strobe like crazy, then finally one will no longer power up, im assuming its the power supplies that have go out due to me using them on a timer. Is anyone aware of what my options on using these fixture might be? are they just junk now?

Ive tried searching for a replacement power supply but i have not found anything at all. nor have i found any post on simular problems

wow that is cooked, must have been getting real hot. I bet you are not the only 1 with issues. You should try contacting who ever you got them from and go from there. That is crazy.

Tried looking for info myself for you but like you said could not find replacement. No other # on the sides or anything?

You may want to go to a local light store and see if they may have any ideas.

try contacting them direct Aquatop Lighting

sadly i have no memory of where i bought the lights, it was over a year ago and they have been sitting for at least 5 months, im emailing them right now, thx for the tip!

I was thinking maybe i could find a power supply that matches the 28w 15v 4a output and just splice some wires...

I do remember them getting very hot to the touch and having to mount them outside the hood to try and keep em cool

cool let us know if they respond and what they say.

Another thought is if you have a local lighting store may be worth a stop in and see if they may be able to assist with ideas on where you maybe able to get similar or replacement part.

So I received a reply stating that my specific product was discontinued and that they did not have any extra power supplies in stock.

However they would offer me $40% off on a new fixture (I have two so I would need to reply to see if they would give me the deal for two):
SkyLED 48" Aquarium Light for Reef Tanks

now I'm not really looking to get new ones I'd rather get the still good LED's up and running, so maybe its time to look into building a driver for these bad boys, would be something that i would love to learn, but i have a feeling it may be just as expensive to build two drivers then to buy the discounted fixtures ($270 if it were 2x @ 40% off)

I would hate to pass up the 40% offer maybe I would be willing to pass on this nice gesture to another reefer? who knows =)

anywho anyone got advice on whether building a driver might be a cheaper option? i have not looked into doing it as i will begin in 3, 2, 1............

oh and i did visit my only local lighting store and they did not have anything right off the shelf that could help me, although they did offer to look deeper into the catalogs but hinted that it may be expensive.

ive run into this if anyone has advice if it may substitute?

    Looking at TRC:

    GS60A15-P1J - Mean Well - TRC Electronics

    LPV-60-15 - Mean Well - TRC Electronics

    RPS-60-15 - Mean Well - TRC Electronics

I know that the lights are 28.6W (for each fixture) and all of what is listed above supplies 60W, now to my understanding the lights will only pull what it needs so all of these parts will be working at half capacity which is a good thing? does this mean i can use one driver for the two fixtures (28.6x2 =57.2W < 60W). Or is it more safe to buy two?

the inside of the old power supply looks very much like :
