All LEDs are dimmable, you just need the appropriate driver to acheive that.

The ELN-60-48D uses a 0-10V "signal" which it then uses to set the output current.

Good question, I'm not sure because I have not tried it, and have no need to. They are intended for moon lighting. My guess would be that they are.

I have the 44" strip over a 6' 125. More than enough light.

I took a few pictures for you, Seano. The first ones gives a rough idea on the amount of light it gives off. This is with the light in the center of the tank. I usually have it toward the back, but move it to the center when I want to see in the tank better. It seems almost too bright in the photos, but it's not. The pictures were taken at 80 ISO so they're a little blurry. When you get close in, there's just enough light to take close-up photos.

Those do look pretty nice, barb. I'll look into those as well. I really like your stand, BTW.

Hey, evolve, is there a dimmable DIY one with just 6 LEDs?

Think I may just get these for my moonlights in all blue instead of 6 white. The fixture I was looking at cost $180 and isn't dimmable. I have plenty of room in my canopy for them too....hehe. Thanks for the info

haha. I'm not sure what I want..blue or white. I think white looks more natural, but blue makes coral floresce.

I think 6 LEDs should also be plenty for moonlights. Do they(CREE) offer a dimmable 6led version, apposed to the 12?

If you want supplemental lighting at night, you need the royal blue lights.

Not specifically "supplemental", but moonlights by night...supplemental by day. I want it to look as natural as possible. If I sent them an email do you think I could ask for say, 4 white & 2 blue LEDs?

Ah, sorry for the confusion, I went back to your original question and copied the word supplemental. I assumed that you are looking for a light to run at night, after the other lights are turned off. If that's the case, only use royal blue lights. If you will be hanging three pendants over your tank, the strip light would be a cleaner look, and half the price of a DIY kit, IMO.

FWIW, I had a bad problem with amphipods, and running the moonlights allowed them to come out of hiding while my wrasse and seahorses were still active. Amphipods gone! ;D
