If I go custom, how many diodes and what spectrum of diodes would I need? What size heat sinks would be best?

I'm not an LED man myself, but here's a bump for your thread. Hopefully someone from the evening crowd can provide an answer.

Got a response. Priced out to $450 with Heat Sinks, LEDs, Lenses, dimming bar, controller, drivers and power supply for the drivers.

    Look right?

What about the Photon48 from Reefbreeders? A slight bit more money but programmable and 1 will do for your tank.

Really expensive. If I were to spend that money I would go with the Cree setup. I am leaning towards the value fixture right now. Really depends on how much money I can recover by selling my current setup.
