    Thanks everyone!

Moving on--I tore up a pair of nice thick neoprene insoles from a pair of work boots for a vibration dampener pad for the pump.

3reefers are truly an ingenious group of people. Who would have ever thought to use the neoprene insoles as padding? That's just brilliant.K+

Good to hear you are moving on. Did that Little Giant vibrate much?? All the ones I have had ran pretty smooth.

You're the man I thought of when my first question arose regarding vibration from an inline pump. I know you use one. I've only used submersibles. I'll admit, I plugged the Little Giant in for about 5 sec's just to get a listen (you're not supposed to run 'em dry). It didn't sound too bad, but I figured some type of pad wouldn't be a bad idea.

    Onward!

Your original thread is a great example of problem solving and process of elimination. Read the whole thing, still not sure what exactly happened, maybe the sand, or as you just said the pump. Let us know when you find out.

The sand was out of the 90 for at least a couple of weeks before I moved a single GSP into the tank. Within minutes it closed up, and I left it for 48 hours. It never opened. When I removed it from the 90, and placed it back into the 55, within an hour it was fully open again. I'm taking this to mean it wasn't the sand either.

It almost has to be the pump, but again, I'm removing every last variable. That pump will be dry in a day, and the Little Giant pump will take its place. We'll see. :-/

By the way, here is Ol' Reliable drilled, and hosting the new bulkhead to empty to the pump.
