It's started! I picked up my tank, stand, and a few other things last night. Sorry to say I'm not the most skilled when it comes to building things, so I went the commercial route, but so far we're loving it. Here's a few pictures of what we picked up. I'll be updating with lots of pictures as we go. The idea will be to do two columns of rock up the overflows in a staircase style with corals and mushrooms all the way from the floor of the tank to the top. Will be adding the coral lists and fish lists as we go as well. My wife has gone from hating the fish tank to spending hours looking at corals and fish and we are both really excited!

We're waiting on the sump to come in on Tuesday and then the plumbing build will commence. Also noticed the pictures won't enlarge so you can find them here as well:

Nice looking tank and stand. Can't wait to see it with rock laid out the way you described.

For those interested in the equipment list, here's what I can put together for now.
Reef Octopus NW 110 in sump skimmer
2 Koralia 1700 gph powerheads and 1 Coralvue dual head 1500 gph powerhead
QuietOne 4000 sump pump - wanted Eheim but was back ordered. This has more gph anyway.
NextReef SMR1 media reactor - going for really high quality water
    Eshopps R-100 sump/refugium
    2 120W LED light fixtures - 14000K I believe
    mounting bracket for light fixtures
Salinity salt - little pricey but heard good things about this salt so figured I'd give it a try
40 # of live sand - adding the 80# i already have in existing tank and sump
110# of live rock - will look at more as needed for desired look
    Tank was an Aqueon 120G w/overflows - 48x24x24
    Aqueon glass tank tops
    2 300w heaters
    Ro/di 100 gpd
can't remember what the heads that will go on the return are called but they can be aimed any direction. Look like little balls attached to each other.
Can't recall what the overflow/return kit was called and can't find it on receipts but once I get to plumbing I'll add it.

That's all I can think of for now. If I missed something call it out and I'll see if I filled the void.

Nah between the return and what I already had I think flow will be adequate. I want the fish to swim around the tank, not get blown around :p

The LEDs are Mpac. I'd never heard of them but my LFS had them on their display tank and I loved em. Basically a 9"x9" block.
