    here is a pic of a what i think is a shrimp. my question is there are some that are green is this there diet or a differnt creature all to gather. unfortunetlly i have yet to capture a pic but they look the same just differnt color

    Can you tell us where in the picture the item in question is.

    I see something that could potentially be a Stomatella varia snail but it could just as well be a piece of gravel.

    very good. They break down uneaten food and also become fish food.

    my guess is diet. The one I have are clear untill they eat then they turn that color or atleast there bellys do from the food.

    My guess on the coloration would be the algae that they consume.....
