oh i forgot to add and yes the jbj has a 2 or 3 minute shut off . so if the sensor fails the jbj unit shuts power down to the pump. so it does have the fail safe built in as stated . and also as stated above a slow pump is very important

I agree with this one. Mine has been in use for over three years with no issues whatsoever, and they're affordable.

The BlueLine is failproof. It will not flood. Float switches need constant maintenance and can get stuck, but its impossible with the BlueLine design.

I think I am going with the blueline or maybe the JBJ.

What exact pump would you recommend?

We have JBJ on two tanks. Both work great and I definitely would buy again.

Spectrapure UPLC-II. It uses the same bulletproof peristaltic pump as their famous Litermeter 3 and is as simple as pushing a button. It is adjustable from 1/10" to 4" sensitivity again with the push of a button and you can even adjust the fill rate. It is very compact with just a small 5/8" clear tube and a backup float switch in the sump or display so is barely even seen.
I've been using one for close to 3 years now and love it!

The smallest one you can, preferably adjustable. That would be either something like a 60GPH pump, or an aqualifter. Either way, a timer is a good safety measure. You also don't want to have your ATO bigger than what the sump can hold. So, if you have 5g extra room in the sump, 5g is your max ATO reservoir.

Same here 3 years now and counting.

I also am a redundant guy. I use dual floats, dual solenoids, and all connected to my ACIII for a timer. It would take both my ACIII sticking on and both solenoids sticking open to flood my tank. Just aint gona happen.

If something fails, only my return pump will be the victim, and really, that will probably be fine as I check my tank daily.

OK, I am about to order the blueline tsunami and an aqua offer pump. Is there anything else I should order also?
