I have been running Vertex pellets for a few mths and havent had any luck lowering my nitrates. If anything, they have went up. Im using the BRS reactor and have it as full as I can where I still get a tumble. I have a few puffers that create a lot of waste and I really wish it did more.

I started with BRS pellets and then switched to Ecobak pellets based on reading on here...I gradually increased the amount over a few weeks and am at full capacity now...I've had some reduction in nitrates (went from 160 or so) to about 50 now but it has pretty much stayed at 50 and not gone lower......I'm assuming I just need to continue to give it more time? Any advice from folks running pellets?

Would love to hear some more updates. Im seriously considering going with a biopellet reactor. It looks like most people have had good luck with lowering nitrates.

If I understand how Ecobak works correctly, you may get more reduction if you increade the amount of pellets (while maintaining a constant rate of tumble which may require a bit more flow), or by increasing the rate of tumble. I understand the first to be the preferred choice.
